The Lunch Buddies Program is a school-based mentoring initiative offered by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California that connects adult volunteers (“Bigs”) with children (“Littles”) in a structured, one-to-one mentoring relationship.

Bigs meet with their Littles once a week during the child’s lunch period at a partnering school site. These consistent, in-school meetings provide children with encouragement, positive role modeling, and a trusted adult presence during the school day. While simple in structure, these weekly interactions build confidence, strengthen social skills, and create meaningful support systems for students.

Program staff provide ongoing professional support to ensure each match is safe, consistent, and impactful.
