Parents as Partners

Other Ways to HelpParents and caregivers entrust their children to us and the Big, and we take that responsibility seriously. By working together, we are putting the positive growth and development of the child first. We partner with you and others to create a better future for the children in our region – including yours.

Can you help us in other ways?

Recruit more Bigs

You know the value of having a Big for your child. If others in your workplace, church, or elsewhere might be good friends and role models for other children, please let them or us know, especially if they are men. We have many children, especially boys, on the waiting list waiting for a Big. They crave the same kind of extra attention that your child is getting. You can help.

Help recruit more Little Sisters

Many women have told us that they wish they had a Big Sister when they were growing up. Girls are less likely to “act out” or have behavior problems than boys, so are often not referred to the program. But girls need support and guidance just as much, as they are just as much as boys at risk of dropping out of school, doing drugs, or getting in trouble, no matter how good their mothers are. We have more women volunteering to be Bigs than we sometimes have Little Sisters available. If you know of a girl that could benefit from a mentor, let us know.

Help raise money

It’s simple. The more money we raise, the more children we can match with a Big. It all adds up. Every gift matters. If your church or school’s PTA chooses a charity to benefit, suggest us. Gather a group of friends together to raise funds for Bowl for Kids’ Sake. We can help you. Contact Nancy Conway.

Or make your own donation. A gift of just $4.16 a month adds up to $50 a year. That $50 helps us serve more children. Thank you.
