The safety of all children in the program is our number one priority.
That’s why we require fingerprints of all volunteers. We also check national and local criminal and sexual abuse databases to make sure no person threatens your child’s well being.
We also get three references from each potential volunteer, do thorough interviews, check driving records, screenings, and assess for red flags that might indicate a potential problem.
In addition, our staff are mandated reporters of suspected child abuse. If a mentor or parent/caregiver has any concerns about possible abuse or neglect, please contact us. We will report the issue to the appropriate agency.
